U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service Endangered Species

  • As the principal federal partner responsible for administering the Endangered Species Act (ESA), The US Fish & Wildlife Service takes the lead in recovering and conserving our Nation's imperiled species.

The IUCN Red List of Endangered Species

  • The International Union for Conservation of Nature and Natural Resources (IUCN) has been assessing the conservation status of species, subspecies, varieties, and even selected subpopulations on a global scale for the past 50 years in order to highlight taxa threatened with extinction, and thereby promote their conservation.

Return of Prairie Bandit [2014] (Be prepared to enter your student ID)

  • The black-footed ferret lives on a single diet — prairie dogs. But when the ubiquitous prairie dog was hunted and poisoned into near extinction, black-footed ferrets disappeared from prairie grasslands. This Nature of Things program follows a painstaking and precarious project that attempts to re-introduce ferrets to their Saskatchewan home.
