Films on Demand - How to Search Films on Demand


The Films on Demand database allows you to search for entire films or films at the segment level. When you search, you are searching a description of a segment.

  1. Go to the Library’s homepage:
  2. Click on Films on Demand under “eBooks and Videos”
  3. To access the West Valley databases you must use your school email address. Instructions can be found here.
  4. Type your search terms in the search box. The default is to search “By Segment,” but you may change it to “By Titles.”
  5. Click on the search button.
  6. Click on a title to view the film or film segment and play the film.


How to Embed Films on Demand


You can embed a film or segment of a film into a Page, an Announcement, the instruction for a discussion forum, or an assessment question within Canvas.

  1. Find the film or film segment you wish to embed.
  2. Click on the Embed link below the film.
  3. A box will appear with the Embed Code for the film. Use the embed code to place in the HTML editor in Canvas.
